Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse First Assistant to join our team at AdventHealth DeLand. As a key member of our surgical team, you will assist the surgeon in performing surgical procedures, maintaining a safe and aseptic environment, and providing exceptional patient care.

Responsibilities
  • Assist the surgeon in performing surgical procedures, including planning, administering, and supervising nursing activities on the operative patient.
  • Maintain a safe and aseptic environment during surgery, adhering to AdventHealth's Corporate Compliance Plan and all applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Collaborate with the surgeon to ensure optimal patient outcomes, utilizing your knowledge and skills in perioperative nursing.
  • Document patient information accurately and thoroughly, maintaining complete records of each procedure.
  • Participate in in-service education programs, attending meetings, and evaluating your own performance to improve.
  • Float to other surgical service units as needed, reviewing policies and procedures to recommend changes.
Requirements
  • Current Florida RN license required.
  • Documented completion of RNFA program (exception: CRNFA certified prior to 1998).
  • One to two years of general nursing experience in an acute care setting.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Five years of nursing experience in the operating room.
  • CNOR, CRNFA preferred.
