Job Overview

The Operations Coordinator plays a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless operation of airport activities. Reporting to the Operations Manager and Supervisor, this position requires effective coordination with Operations and Maintenance teams through two-way radio communication and collaboration with various governmental entities and Air Traffic Control.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Gate Management: Oversee gate operations utilizing AODB and FIDS systems.
  • Incident Coordination: Communicate with Airfield and Terminal Operations personnel during security, safety, and emergency situations.
  • Emergency Response: Execute functions in line with the Airport Emergency Plan, engaging with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Surveillance Monitoring: Operate the Access Control System (ACS) and Digital Video Surveillance System (DVSS).
  • Reporting: Maintain daily operational reports, logs, and checklists.
  • Customer Service: Provide assistance and information to travelers, tenants, and airport staff.
  • Safety Monitoring: Oversee the facility fire alarm system and weather information systems.
  • Notification System: Dispatch alerts to stakeholders using the airport's mass notification system.
  • Flexible Availability: Willingness to work additional hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. certification is required.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in aviation management, Emergency Management, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory. Recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
  • At least 1 year of experience in airport operations or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience in customer service or airport operations is advantageous.
  • Demonstrated reliability, initiative, and sound judgment are essential.
Licenses and Requirements:
  • Valid Driver's license is necessary.
  • Must obtain and maintain security clearance as mandated by TSA regulations.
Skills and Knowledge:
  • Proficient in office productivity software, including word processing and spreadsheet applications.
  • Familiarity with various computer systems and radio equipment.
  • Knowledge of Access Control, Video Surveillance Systems, and Emergency Paging Software is beneficial.
  • Understanding of relevant aviation regulations, including 14 CFR Part 139 and 49 CFR Part 1542.
  • Basic knowledge of law enforcement and fire department communication protocols.
Abilities:
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to type at least 40 words per minute.
  • Capacity to engage in multi-tasking while maintaining situational awareness.
  • Ability to respond effectively to emergencies in a composed manner.
  • Capability to sit for extended periods.
