Amphenol High Speed Products Group is a market leader for high-speed, high-bandwidth electrical connectors for the Telecom/Datacom market. We help enable the electronics revolution and remain a key enabler for major Tier 1 OEMs globally.
The Program Manager will ensure that products and technologies are delivered according to market/customer expectations in terms of specifications, timing, and budget. This role requires technical leadership for new product development programs with high complexity.
- Manage the program, project, and team, contributing to the program scope and project objectives.
- Provide communication interface to customers for program status, schedule, requirements, and other updates.
- Manage and provide technical leadership to project/program teams across multiple sites.
- Schedule and manage internal team meetings to address necessary action items and keep programs on schedule.
- Manage internal and external suppliers for on-time completion of actions.
- Communicate resource requirements to management to keep projects on schedule.
- Define product specifications and project scope to ensure alignment with market/customer needs.
- Ensure projects meet financial objectives, including capital requests and product costing information.
- Make decisions to speed up the process and ensure timely market, volume, and profitability.
- Apply Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles during product development.
- Perform capacity planning to ensure supply meets expected demand.
- Provide regular project updates to functional management.
- Set up systems for ordering/manufacturing products.
- Manage and reduce risks using risk reduction tools to maintain project objectives and schedules.
- International travel: 15-20%.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline from a four-year university with 4+ years of related experience and/or training within the connector industry.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical product drawings.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from various levels of management.
- Ability to manage customer communication and expectations.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Knowledge and skills using project management software, spreadsheet software (Excel), word processing software (Word), and presentation software (PowerPoint).
- Ability to communicate and relate with project teams in each region of the world.
- Demonstrated ability to operate with minimal supervision and provide updates on program/project status where issues or problems can be reviewed, discussed, and resolved.
- Root cause analysis.
