Position Overview:

The City of Montgomery is seeking a qualified individual for the role of Construction and Heavy Equipment Supervisor. This position is essential for overseeing the effective operation and maintenance of construction machinery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise a team of full-time personnel engaged in construction activities.
  • Oversee the installation, upkeep, and repair of infrastructure including roads, bridges, and drainage systems.
  • Calculate necessary materials, labor, and machinery for various construction initiatives.
  • Address and resolve public inquiries related to maintenance operations.
  • Operate and manage heavy machinery such as compactors, bulldozers, and excavators.

Qualifications:

  • Completion of high school education or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in construction, maintenance, and repair work.
  • At least 2 years of experience in operating heavy construction equipment.

Additional Requirements:

  • Possession of a valid driver's license.
  • Availability to work overtime and weekends as needed.
  • Must hold a Class A or B Commercial Driver's License for equipment operation.
  • Required to achieve Landfill Operator Certification.
