Job Summary: The Industrial Maintenance Technician will execute a variety of tasks to maintain, repair, and install an array of production machinery, facility equipment, and electrical systems including panels, circuits, and PLCs. Responsibilities will include working from work orders, schematics, wiring diagrams, manuals, and preventive maintenance records.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair diverse production, tool room, and material handling equipment, including stamping presses and automatic coiling systems.
- Disassemble machinery as needed, replace or rebuild defective components, and ensure proper reassembly and operation.
- Reconstruct production machines, check and replace worn parts, and perform necessary adjustments.
- Maintain and troubleshoot HVAC systems, air compressors, and environmental controls, analyzing issues and replacing faulty components.
- Install and repair electrical power lines and control panel connections.
- Conduct preventive maintenance on conveyors, material handling equipment, and production machines, maintaining accurate records.
- Install new equipment, ensuring proper connections and safety measures are in place.
- Perform various building maintenance tasks including electrical, plumbing, and carpentry work.
- Order necessary parts and supplies.
- Conduct maintenance inspections and maintain logs.
- Adhere to lockout/tag-out procedures during maintenance work.
- Operate forklifts for machine assembly and disassembly.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Report unusual equipment issues to the Supervisor.
- Complete other related duties as assigned.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- 6 to 10 years of mechanical and electrical experience in a manufacturing setting.
- Strong safety record and work ethic.
- Able to work 1st or modified 1st shift; overtime may be required.
- Knowledgeable in troubleshooting and repairing electrical panels and PLCs.
- Skilled in mechanical repairs, with knowledge of stamping presses and related machinery.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics.
- Proficient in using various machine tools and inspection equipment.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds and stand or kneel for extended periods.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: The incumbent will develop a comprehensive understanding of the company's operational practices and collaborate closely with other departments to ensure that production machinery and facilities are maintained efficiently. A high level of energy, results-oriented mindset, and strong mechanical and electrical skills are essential for success in this role.
