Virtual ICU Nurse

Job Summary
The Hybrid eICU Nurse is a critical care specialist who provides individualized care to acutely and critically ill patients in a highly technical and ongoing monitoring environment. This role requires a strong foundation in nursing skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a virtual command center.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess patient condition, perform diagnostic tests, and begin treatments as needed
- Monitor and adjust specialized equipment, interpret electronic displays, and record patient data
- Collaborate with doctors and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans
- Provide patient education, medication and discharge teaching, and care coordination
- Mentor new nurses and implement evidence-based care practices
- Assist primary bedside nurse with nursing tasks and real-time quality and patient safety surveillance
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- Minimum of two years previous nursing experience in an ICU
- Charge nurse or preceptor experience and specialty nursing certification preferred
- Basic computer skills and knowledge
- Excellent customer service skills, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities
- Flexibility and ability to work in a multi-tasking environment
- RN license active in the state of Missouri
- BLS certification required within 90 days
