Position Overview
Tufts Medicine has introduced a new Community RN Career Pathway plan designed to support your growth, regardless of your current stage in your nursing career.
This initiative offers Lowell General Hospital nurses a structured pathway for compensation and meaningful professional development aligned with their experience and career goals.
Unit Overview
The Oncology Intermediate Care Unit is a 16-bed critical care facility featuring 2 private rooms and 7 semi-private rooms.
This unit provides care for adult patients with various acute conditions, ensuring comprehensive treatment in accordance with hospital protocols, the Massachusetts Nurse Practice Act, and the American Nurses Association standards.
Conditions treated include, but are not limited to, chest pain, congestive heart failure, new onset A-fib, post-cardiac catheterization recovery, COPD, and oncology/hematology cases, including chemotherapy administration.
Nurse-Patient Ratio
The nurse-to-patient ratio is lower than that of medical-surgical units, allowing for closer monitoring of patients.
Work Schedule
36 hours per week, Night Shift, 7 PM - 7 AM, Every Third Weekend.
Qualifications
- Current RN licensure in Massachusetts in good standing.
- BSN is strongly preferred.
- A minimum of 1-2 years of experience in telemetry or intermediate care settings is preferred.
- BLS certification required; ACLS certification preferred.
