Ornamental Plant Breeder

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Ornamental Plant Breeder to join our team at the Durham Horticulture Farm in Watkinsville, GA. The successful candidate will be responsible for the operational management of field production of ornamental nursery crops, as well as supporting greenhouse operations.

• Management of field research plots, including mowing, pre and post emergent weed control, application of mulch, planting, plant removal and pruning.
• Maintenance of ornamental research plots, including irrigation installation and maintenance, and soil sampling.
• Assistance with container and greenhouse facilities, including potting and weeding container-grown plant material.
• Assisting directly with research planning, implementation, and data collection.

• Diverse landscape management skills, including the ability to troubleshoot and maintain small equipment, mowers and tractors.
• Valid driver's license.

Work outdoors under variable weather conditions, with the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
