Job Summary

The Van Driver will be responsible for collecting donations by emptying donation bins on a daily basis. The Van Driver will safely drive a company-provided vehicle to and from designated locations, ensuring timely and safe removal of bins. The Van Driver will also perform daily inspections of the truck to ensure quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect the van daily for defects and safe operating conditions, documenting each inspection.
  • Drive the van to and from designated locations, navigating varying speeds and difficult situations such as heavy traffic and inclement weather.
  • Represent the organization professionally at donation bin sites, interacting positively with the public.
  • Communicate with supervisors and other warehouse department personnel.
  • Load and unload products into the van.
  • Perform job duties accurately to ensure correct information and/or product is received by other personnel and departments.
  • Adhere to safety policies and procedures, as well as all Hearts Foundation Inc. policies and procedures in the employee handbook.
Requirements
  • Must be able to work independently and as part of a team effectively.
  • Must be able to lift products weighing up to 50 pounds regularly.
  • Must be able to operate a van.
  • Flexibility to be available for work Monday-Saturday.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 2 years of previous van driving experience, preferably with a passenger van, parcel, cargo, or delivery van.
  • Heavy lifting ability.
  • Ability to operate route software and maintain collection logs.
  • Current driving abstract.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.
  • Good attendance and punctuality.
  • Reliable transportation.
