About Us

T. Marzetti Company, a leading manufacturer and marketer of specialty food products, is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Janitorial Specialist to join our team. As a Janitorial Specialist, you will play a critical role in maintaining a clean and safe work environment for our employees and customers.

Responsibilities
  • Empty and clean all trash receptacles in offices, restrooms, locker rooms, and breakroom areas.
  • Keep all common area floors clean and free of debris.
  • Clean and sanitize all restroom and lunchroom facilities, including sinks, toilets, and showers.
  • Dust and clean office furniture and fixtures, including desks, tables, filing cabinets, windowsills, and ceiling vents.
  • Sanitize high-touch point areas, including door handles, light switches, phones, and other frequently touched surfaces.
  • Clean and sanitize water fountains and other drinking water sources.
  • Restock supplies in restroom and hand sink areas.
  • Adhere to company policies, procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices, Standard Sanitation Operating Procedure, Lockout/Tagout Procedures, and other safety policies.
  • Maintain a quality-oriented attitude in the workplace and work in a safe and accident-free manner.
  • Perform all other jobs as assigned by the supervisor or manager.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Maintain a safe work area and follow safety procedures.
  • Follow proper food safety conditions and use Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • Must be prompt and willing to work overtime as required, including weekends.
  • Use Personal Protective Equipment as required.
Qualifications
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with supervisor.
  • Repeated heavy lifting (up to 50 pounds) is involved.
  • Need to be able to work in a hot environment.
  • Handling of chemicals during cleaning.
  • Must be able to read and comprehend instruction sheets provided with cleaning chemicals.
Working Conditions/Environment

Works in a manufacturing environment where the employee is regularly required to speak, read, sit, stand, walk, climb, crouch, lift, reach, grasp, and bend while moving about the facility. The employee may be exposed to non-ambient temperatures, odors, dust, oil, slippery floors, moving parts/equipment, and handling of hazardous sanitation chemicals. The noise level is loud in the plant. Ear protection, eye/face protection, hair/beard nets, steel-toed/slip-resistant shoes, and gloves are required as necessary in accordance with company GMP and safety standards.
