Position Summary
We are currently seeking a qualified Journeyman Pipefitter to enhance our operational capabilities. This role is essential for the successful execution of mechanical piping systems on large-scale commercial projects. Key Responsibilities
- Fabricate and assemble piping systems for mechanical installations in commercial construction settings.
- Interpret blueprints and specifications to ascertain project requirements, including material types and quantities.
- Select appropriate pipe types and sizes, along with necessary materials and equipment.
- Execute cutting, threading, bending, and assembly of pipes.
- Prepare and position piping components accurately in various configurations.
- Secure components through bolting, clamping, and tack-welding as necessary.
- Install hangers, supports, valves, and other components according to established plans.
- Conduct leak tests to verify the integrity of piping systems.
- Utilize various tools and equipment safely and effectively.
- Operate forklifts and manlifts as required.
- Manage loads using appropriate rigging techniques.
- Maintain a safe and organized work environment.
- Coordinate and oversee pipe installation activities.
- Supervise a small crew, ensuring proper timekeeping and adherence to codes.
- Demonstrate proficiency with Victaulic piping systems.
- Complete necessary safety documentation.
- Work at heights using ladders and manlifts as needed.
- Perform additional tasks or special projects as assigned.
- A minimum of 4 years of experience in pipe fitting with materials such as copper, stainless steel, and carbon steel.
- Ability to read and comprehend welding symbols, procedures, and mechanical drawings.
- Proficient in interpreting technical manuals and blueprints.
- OSHA 10-hour certification is preferred.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and proficiency in mathematical calculations.
- Must consistently demonstrate alertness and a commitment to safety.
