Job Title: Travel Nurse RN Med Surg

Tact Staff is seeking a skilled Travel Nurse RN Med Surg to join our team for a travel nursing assignment in Coos Bay, Oregon.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse to provide high-quality patient care in a Medical Surgical setting. As a Travel Nurse RN Med Surg, you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse patient population and develop your skills in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide holistic care for post-operative patients, including those who have had orthopedic, bariatric, urologic, or general surgical procedures
  • Assess patients, as appropriate to the scope of care the nurse will provide, including physical, psychosocial, learning needs and barriers, needs related to age/culture, and discharge planning
  • Establish nursing diagnoses based on results of assessments and in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team
  • Plan care according to identified diagnoses and needs, updating the plan of care as appropriate
  • Implement individualized care, based on nursing care plan and the nurse's role with the patient, including assisting with activities of daily living, medication administration, skin assessment/wound care, pain management, and operation/manipulation of biomedical and other patient care and testing equipment
  • Assist the physician and other licensed, independent practitioners with invasive and non-invasive procedures
  • Teach patients and their families about current illness, medical tests, medication, general healthcare, illness and disease prevention, and wellness promotion
  • Provide appropriate assignment, supervision, and direction to unlicensed assistive personnel in order to ensure optimum patient care
  • Provide interdisciplinary coordination and facilitation of overall care
  • Document patient assessments, interventions, care, and teaching in the electronic medical record, as well as in paper format as necessary
  • Evaluate care provided, communicate patient status and results of care to the interdisciplinary team
Requirements:
  • 2 years of Med Surg experience - REQUIRED
  • Pediatric experience - preferred
  • EPIC experience - REQUIRED
  • Certifications - certifications don't need to be active at time of submission but must be willing to obtain
  • OR license - doesn't need to be active at time of submission but must be willing to obtain

Health and wellness services in pediatrics, childbirth and obstetrics, gynecology and female health, cancer diagnosis and treatment in oncology, diabetes and kidney disease treatment, geriatric medicine and services for the elderly and disable, emergency medicine, and a full range of specialty medical services.

The hospital has an in-house Nurse Practitioner in Employee Health Department that sees only employees and their dependents.
