About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Design Engineer to join our team at Westwood Professional Services, Inc. in Middleton, WI. As a key member of our Renewables Division, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise in the design and development of electrical power systems for commercial and utility-scale solar, wind, and energy storage projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the production of construction documents for electrical power systems, including site layouts, wire/cable routing plans, and equipment schedules.
  • Collaborate with design team disciplines, including civil engineers, geotechnical engineers, and surveyors, to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Utilize AutoCAD to create construction documents and perform quantity takeoffs, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in the design process.
  • Maintain awareness and knowledge of Westwood design/CAD standards, ensuring consistency and quality in all deliverables.
Requirements
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and experience with electrical design concepts.
  • Knowledge of NEC and/or NESC codes and standards.
  • Associates Degree or Technical School Certificate in Electrical Design, Solar Design, Architectural/Engineering Drafting, or related field.
  • Approximately 2-5 years of experience in the drafting/design of electrical power/distribution systems.
  • Working knowledge and ability to read construction drawings and specifications.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Windows/Office products.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Engineering, or similar field.
  • Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D and ArcGIS.
  • Proficiency with ETAP, SKM, CYME, or similar software packages used for electrical power system modeling and analysis.
  • NABCEP Certification.
  • Experience with energy storage systems, wind AC collection design, and PV production modeling software.
Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive compensation package, including a salary range of $70,000 to $80,000 per year, depending on experience.
