StellarWP is on the lookout for a talented Senior Full Stack Engineer to join our remote workforce. This role is designed for an individual with a deep expertise in WordPress and WooCommerce, coupled with a strong command of modern frontend technologies such as JavaScript, React, CSS, and Tailwind CSS. A solid foundation in PHP is essential, and familiarity with Laravel is considered a valuable asset. As a Senior Frontend Engineer, you will spearhead the creation of dynamic, responsive web interfaces for our WooCommerce extension and associated projects, ensuring seamless integration with key APIs like Stripe and PayPal.

This is a permanent, full-time remote position offering a competitive salary of up to $130K.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Drive the frontend development initiatives, crafting sophisticated user experiences for our WooCommerce extension.
  • Leverage your PHP expertise to develop and tailor WordPress themes and plugins, ensuring smooth backend integration.
  • Integrate third-party APIs, with a focus on payment gateways such as Stripe and PayPal, to enhance functionality and user interaction.
  • Utilize advanced frontend technologies (JavaScript, React, CSS, Tailwind CSS) to create dynamic, responsive, and visually engaging web solutions.
  • Collaborate closely with the backend team, benefiting from Laravel experience, to deliver efficient and scalable web applications.
  • Produce, review, and maintain technical documentation.
  • Write automated tests to ensure functionality.
  • Adhere to best practices in web development, ensuring high performance, security, and compatibility across various browsers and devices.
  • Engage in continuous learning to stay abreast of the latest trends and technologies in frontend development and eCommerce solutions.
Required Qualifications:
  • 7+ years of experience in the WordPress ecosystem.
  • Strong proficiency in frontend web development, with a comprehensive portfolio showcasing projects in JavaScript, React, CSS, and Tailwind CSS.
  • Extensive knowledge of PHP and experience with WordPress and WooCommerce, including custom theme and plugin development.
  • Experience with Laravel is highly regarded, adding significant value to our development efforts.
  • Proven ability to work with external APIs, particularly in payment processing integrations.
  • Familiarity with WordPress and WooCommerce APIs, as well as relevant frontend SDKs (e.g., Stripe's React, ChartJS).
  • A commitment to web development best practices, especially in responsive design and cross-browser compatibility.
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities and the capacity to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Must excel in a fully remote work environment, demonstrating the ability to maintain focus and productivity without traditional office oversight.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in developing blocks for the Block Editor.
  • Experience with continuous integration and automated deployment pipelines.
  • Experience with JavaScript application frameworks.
  • Experience in building accessible and performant sites (familiarity with WAI-ARIA and WCAG 2.0+ AA/Section 508).
  • Advanced knowledge of JavaScript (state management, async operations, unit, snapshot, and integration testing, REST APIs).
  • Full stack experience beyond HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Background in large-scale WordPress projects.
