Job Description

We are a dedicated dental practice, Visionary Dental Arts, seeking a skilled Dental Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our dental care team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the comfort and well-being of our patients.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, be well-organized, and have a keen attention to detail. You will be responsible for preparing patients for treatments, selecting and setting up instruments, and maintaining accurate patient records.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare patients for treatments or checkups ensuring their comfort
  • Select and set up instruments, equipment, and materials needed
  • Monitor inventory and supply levels
  • Sterilize instruments according to regulations
  • Assist the dentist through 4-handed dentistry
  • Undertake lab tasks as instructed
  • Provide oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions
  • Keep the dental room clean and well-stocked
  • Schedule appointments
  • Maintain accurate patient records and assist with payment procedures

Qualifications:

  • 2 years experience as a certified dental assistant
  • Active State Dental Board license, X-ray license, CPR certificate
  • Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization methods
  • Understanding of health & safety regulations
  • Ability to perform regulated non-surgical tasks like coronal polishing
  • Great computer skills
  • Excellent communication, relationship building, and leadership skills
  • Multi-task capable with an attention to detail
  • Well-organized and reliable
  • Team player, hard working, and unquestionable integrity
  • Confident but coachable
  • Additional certification or training is an asset (e.g. RDA)
