Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct patient care throughout the entirety of work hours, including necessary documentation in patients' medical records.
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations to determine the most suitable course of treatment for each patient and follow up as necessary.
- Perform and document assessments and measurements relevant to the patient's condition, which may encompass strength, range of motion, sensory perception, functional capacity, and respiratory and circulatory efficiency.
- Administer physical therapy treatments and monitor progress within the scope of practice, aiming to reduce pain, enhance range of motion and strength, and promote overall function.
- Meet or exceed productivity standards as established by the respective therapy practice.
- Evaluate treatment effectiveness at various intervals, at least every 30 days, and modify treatment plans to maximize patient benefit.
- Document treatments, responses, progress, and outcomes in compliance with federal and state regulations and MedVanta requirements.
- Accurately select and document appropriate billing codes corresponding to the treatments provided.
- Adhere to all insurance guidelines necessary for coverage and reimbursement, coordinating care in line with current authorizations and treatment plans.
- Supervise physical therapist assistants and related support staff as dictated by state regulations.
- Facilitate student observation and clinical rotations as applicable and in accordance with regulations.
- Collaborate effectively with other healthcare providers to enhance patient recovery and ensure successful outcomes.
- Actively engage in team activities, including staff meetings, sponsored events, webinars, and departmental gatherings.
- Assist in maintaining clinic operations, which may involve variations in scheduled hours.
- Administer treatments in accordance with compliance regulations as mandated by governing bodies and MedVanta best practices.
- May be required to work evening shifts and occasional weekends based on operational needs.
- Obtain necessary continuing education units and fulfill state-specific requirements to maintain licensure.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- A degree from an accredited Physical Therapy program.
- State licensure as a Physical Therapist in the practicing state.
- CPR certification for Healthcare Providers.
- Proficiency in utilizing computers and electronic medical records.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to foster relationships in a decentralized organization.
- Proven ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, demonstrating self-discipline and patience.
- Proficient in Windows-based office software (e.g., Word, Excel).
- Comprehensive knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 coding practices.
- Understanding of Medicare and third-party billing processes.
- Familiarity with Workers Compensation insurance and its specific requirements.
- Able to work independently and maintain professionalism in all interactions.
- Must possess the ability to communicate effectively in English.
- Ability to sit for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must utilize appropriate body mechanics when assisting patients with exercises.
- Frequent bending, reaching, and repetitive movements are required.
- Regular heavy lifting, pushing, and pulling may be necessary throughout the work shift.
- Good hearing is essential for performing duties in person and over the phone.
- Manual dexterity is required for operating medical equipment and office technology.
- Clear communication with patients in person and via telephone is necessary.
- Visual acuity adequate for reading printed materials and computer screens.
- Exposure to communicable diseases and clinical conditions is expected.
