Position Overview: Under the supervision of the Clinical Laboratory Supervisor, this role is accountable for conducting a variety of chemical, microscopic, and bacteriological examinations to gather data essential for patient diagnosis and treatment.

Educational Requirements: A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required, along with eligibility for ASCP certification.

Experience: Prior internship experience is preferred, along with at least one year of relevant clinical laboratory experience.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Exhibits the cognitive capabilities necessary to comprehend and master pertinent content in clinical laboratory manuals.
  • Ability to analyze, integrate, and synthesize clinical information or data in relation to laboratory tests and procedures.
  • Employs reasoning and decision-making skills that are appropriate for the practice of clinical laboratory science.
  • Capable of operating laboratory equipment (such as pipettes, test tubes, and inoculating loops) and making adjustments to instruments for laboratory procedures.
  • Proficient in using an electronic keyboard to operate laboratory instruments and to calculate, record, evaluate, and transmit laboratory information.
  • Demonstrates strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Possesses the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and other professional disciplines.
  • Utilizes sound interpersonal skills when interacting with patients, considering their cultural backgrounds, linguistic abilities, and age.
  • Maintains confidentiality of information in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
