Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Shipping Clerk to join our team at Smithfield Foods. As a Shipping Clerk, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient movement of goods in and out of our facility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Verify and maintain accurate records of incoming and outgoing shipments
  • Prepare items for shipment, including labeling and packaging
  • Direct the movement of shipments from shipping and receiving platforms to storage and work areas
  • Provide information to customer service representatives as needed
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to safety and security protocols
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Previous experience in a shipping or logistics environment preferred
  • Basic math skills and ability to perform calculations accurately
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and SAP
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Work Environment

This is an office position, but the plant environment will include exposure to wet or humid conditions, extreme temperatures, and chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is moderate to loud.
