Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Railroad Track Operator to join our team at CP. As a key member of our maintenance crew, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our rail network.

Key Responsibilities

  • Repair and maintain track switches, using specialized equipment and tools
  • Operate heavy machinery, such as rail saws and track-wrench machines, to perform track maintenance tasks
  • Lubricate and perform routine maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance
  • Clean and inspect track and equipment to identify potential issues
  • Collaborate with team members to complete maintenance tasks and ensure safe working conditions

Requirements

  • 21 years of age or older
  • Valid Class B CDL with an acceptable driving record
  • High School diploma or GED required
  • Must possess a valid state-issued driver's license
  • Available to work system-wide, extended and frequent travel required
  • Able to work in a team environment and possess verbal and written communication skills sufficient to coordinate work and relate track conditions to co-workers
  • Manual labor experience in an outdoor environment required
  • Prior railroad experience preferred
  • Must have requisite color vision acuity
  • Able to use hands to perform activities involving holding, grasping, turning and pulling
  • Able to work in conditions that include loud noise and fumes, work on and around heavy and moving machinery, bend, lift, work, walk, stand and sit in confined spaces for extended periods of time and use hand and power tools
