Senior Counselor

At AtlantiCare, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Counselor to join our team. As a Senior Counselor, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality counseling services to our clients.

The Senior Counselor will be responsible for assisting and overseeing the daily activities of the unit, reporting to the clinical supervisor on a daily basis for consultation. You will serve as a lead and mentor to other Substance Abuse Counselors, familiarize yourself with various reporting requirements, and assist staff with documentation and review.

• Assist and oversee the daily activities of the unit
• Report to clinical supervisor on a daily basis for consultation
• Lead and mentor other Substance Abuse Counselors
• Familiarize yourself with various reporting requirements
• Assist staff with documentation and review
• Complete the ASI, TPR, and progress notes in accordance with MAT/IOP policy and grant requirements
• Develop realistic treatment plans based on relevant information gathered from all life areas of caseload clients
• Assist with counselor's submission of appropriate medical referrals
• Identify treatment methods and resources to be utilized as appropriate for the individual client
• Knowledgeable of client HIPPA confidentiality, grievance, and appeals process

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a New Jersey certificate in addictions treatment, such as the CADC or LCADC, with a minimum of three years in the field of alcoholism and substance abuse. You will also need to demonstrate technical competencies as established on the Assessment and Evaluation Tool.

This position requires repetitive motion, hearing, pushing, reaching, and reading, seeing, speaking, standing, and walking a majority of the time. You will spend time with equipment such as a computer terminal, fax machine, copier, and telephone.

This position reports to department leadership.
