Engineering Trainee

Role Summary: This internship opportunity is within the Engineering Department, designed for individuals pursuing a degree in engineering or a related technical field. The intern will engage in technical tasks aligned with their area of study, which may encompass Software, Electrical Design, Testing, and Mechanical Engineering.

Key Responsibilities:

• Participate in design evaluations and discussions.
• Create and document technical operational theories for completed design projects.
• Develop plans and reports, including visual data representations such as charts and graphs.
• Engage in basic circuit design, circuit analysis, and utilize schematic capture tools for simple PCB design.
• Conduct troubleshooting using standard laboratory equipment.
• Assist in basic electronics assembly and soldering tasks.
• Support part selection and the development of bills of materials.
• Write and design software code for products or testing purposes.
• Assemble cables or prototypes as required.

Compliance and Standards:

• Adhere to company SHE policies and standards.
• Follow the Code of Business Conduct and Ethics.
• Complete additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

Core Competencies:

• Strong organizational abilities.
• Proficient in standard computer applications, including MS Office.
• Basic understanding of relevant engineering principles.
• Ability to produce clear and concise technical documentation.
• Experience with scientific charting and graphing using MS Excel.
• Familiarity with basic testing equipment, such as DMM and Oscilloscope, relevant to the degree program.
• Demonstrated critical thinking skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
• Maintain a positive and proactive attitude.

Internship Level: Entry-Level (Inexperienced)

• Knowledge: Limited application of fundamental technical principles and practices.
• Job Complexity: Engages in tasks of limited scope, adhering to established practices and procedures for data analysis.
• Discretion/Latitude: Work is closely monitored, following detailed instructions.
• Minimum Education & Experience: Currently enrolled in an engineering, technical, or scientific program (or a related degree program).
