Job Description

Cayuga Health System is seeking a skilled Unit Clerk to support the nursing staff in our Surgical Stay department. As a Unit Clerk, you will perform various clerical duties, including answering phones, delivering messages, making charts, and coordinating transfer paperwork. You will also assist with patient care, such as making appointments, calling providers, and assisting with prior authorizations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support nursing and interdisciplinary teams with clerical duties
  • Notify other departments as necessary
  • Perform tasks such as ordering supplies and answering call bells

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Prior patient care and customer service experience preferred

Physical Requirements:

  • May require lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • May require sitting or standing for long periods

Location and Travel Requirements:

  • Onsite
  • Shift: 6:30 AM - 7:00 PM
  • Rotating Saturdays
