As an Apparel Quality Assurance Engineer, you will provide essential quality support across various cross-functional projects, including New Product Development, Product Support, and Value Engineering initiatives.

Your primary responsibility will be to assist in the selection, development, and management of key apparel suppliers for Techtronic Industries.

You will collaborate closely with Sourcing, Marketing, and Product Development teams to communicate quality strategies and plans for key suppliers, ensuring alignment with quality performance, cost objectives, and product specifications.

This role involves conducting on-site supplier assessments and audits to verify compliance with product requirements and process documentation. You will also develop action plans and oversee the implementation of improvements while guiding suppliers in adopting best manufacturing practices.

Key Responsibilities:


- Possess foundational knowledge and experience with textile mills, materials, after treatments (e.g., anti-microbial), cut and sew facilities, color dyeing/matching, and textile measurements (material, color, and garments).

- Execute testing procedures for apparel and textiles to validate product specifications and ensure readiness for Quality and Reliability.


- Coordinate quality planning activities, including auditing, inspection, and control plans that translate user needs into product specifications and manufacturing processes.

- Understand supplier capabilities and effectively communicate insights to cross-functional teams.


- Collaborate with global operations, materials development, marketing, engineering, and quality teams to devise quality control mitigation strategies.
- Engage with manufacturing and supplier representatives across North America, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia to ensure operational readiness for new product launches.

- Support the product design process by benchmarking and testing concepts and prototypes.


- Work alongside Design and Marketing teams to convert customer needs into product requirements and specifications.
- Participate in the evaluation and selection of suppliers.
- Lead and facilitate global, cross-functional team meetings involving new product development, operations, quality, and supply chain stakeholders.

- Provide technical guidance to suppliers and the supplier quality team.


- Implement quality improvements for both new and existing products.Qualifications:


- Bachelor's Degree in Quality, Textile Engineering, Manufacturing, or Mechanical Engineering, along with two to three years of relevant experience in fabric/apparel quality or material development.

- Experience in the cutting and sewing industry, including mills, basic knits and wovens, fabric development, testing, and color matching.


- Background in research and development within textile manufacturing, covering knits, wovens, elastics, and apparel trims.
- Ability to thrive in a cross-functional team and matrix management environment.
- Strong technical aptitude with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven leadership capabilities, with the ability to guide teams and influence decision-making.


- Familiarity with Quality Management Systems, including the creation and tracking of non-conformance records (NCMR), Supplier Corrective Actions (SCAR), and problem-solving methodologies (8D).


- Basic understanding of Supplier Management processes, including supplier selection, auditing, evaluations, scorecards, development, and improvement strategies.

Willingness to travel up to 25% domestically and internationally, sometimes on short notice.
