Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a personal mentor to support the growth, skills, and vision of participants.
  • Communicate professionally with co-workers, participants, and community members.
  • Exhibit proactive approaches to resolving issues and updating the Program Manager and Program Supervisor as situations occur.
  • Support training, skills practice, participant documentation, and task timelines related to personal development.
  • Collaborate with the leadership team to develop objectives integrating self-expression and communication.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of one year of experience serving people with developmental/intellectual disabilities.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Crisis Response Management Certification required (or obtain within 60-days of hire).
  • Must have current CPR/First Aid Certificate (or obtain within 60-days of hire).
  • Must have a valid California Driver's License and proof of automobile insurance.
  • Reliable smartphone and willingness to download work-related applications.
  • Proof of Criminal Background Clearance.
  • Proof of a passing physical exam and TB clearance.
  • Proof of eligibility to work in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or comparable experience.
  • Two years experience in training, teaching, and/or supervision of clients/students.
  • Training in behavior modification and/or positive teaching techniques.
  • Familiarity with regional center-funded services.
  • Fluent in Spanish.
