Job Summary

The successful candidate will serve as an Adjunct Faculty member in the Dental Hygiene program, providing instruction and supervision to students in clinical settings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement course schedules to ensure effective student learning
  • Evaluate and advise students on their academic progress
  • Prepare and administer exams to assess student knowledge and skills
  • Develop and maintain syllabi for courses taught
  • Monitor student class rosters and maintain accurate records
  • Schedule laboratory sessions for skills component of course
  • Teach in lecture and laboratory settings, including blended and virtual environments
  • Disseminate information and recruit students for service-learning initiatives
  • Assess student performance in the clinical setting
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Department Chairperson
Requirements
  • Master's degree in any field and Bachelor's degree in Dental Hygiene, or Bachelor's degree in Dental Hygiene, or Bachelor's degree in any field and Associate degree in Dental Hygiene from a Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) accredited program
  • Valid State of Florida Dental Hygiene licensure
  • Three years of full-time work and/or instructional experience in the field
  • All educational degrees must be from a regionally accredited institution
  • Possess excellent and effective communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Ability to work well with students, faculty, staff, and the community
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evening and weekend assignments
  • Ability to work in a multi-ethnic/multi-cultural environment
Preferred Qualifications
  • Unofficial transcripts and a cover letter are preferred
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing circumstances
