About the RoleEnvironmental Consultants (ECI) is seeking a highly skilled Transmission Outreach Forester to join our team. As a key member of our vegetation management team, you will play a critical role in ensuring safe and reliable electric service delivery to the public.
Key Responsibilities- Act as the subject matter expert on utility vegetation management (UVM) for clients, landowners, and other stakeholders.
- Inspect electric utility easements and prescribe vegetation management actions.
- Coordinate with landowners and stakeholders to notify them of upcoming vegetation management work for their properties.
- Ensure tree crews are following proper safety and arboricultural practices and procedures.
- Address customer concerns related to vegetation in and adjacent to utility easements.
- Negotiate with customers for tree removal as prescribed.
- Perform audits and quality control inspections on completed vegetation management work.
- Identify vegetative threats to safe & reliable electric service and develop action plans to mitigate.
- Bachelor's degree in Forestry, Environmental Science, or related discipline.
- Local tree identification skills and ability to read maps.
- Willingness to work alone, outdoors in various weather conditions and terrain.
- Superb written and verbal communication skills.
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, smartphones).
- Prior UVM, Forestry or related outdoor experience.
- Certification as an ISA Arborist, Registered Forester, or other related certificates/licenses.
- Previous GIS technology/software experience.
- A strong desire to grow and develop your career and knowledge in the UVM industry with ECI.
- Bi-lingual speaking (English and Spanish).
This role requires working alone in an outdoor field environment, with frequent travel to remote locations and urban areas. The successful candidate must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and be able to lift up to 60 lbs. and operate assigned equipment and vehicles.
