We are seeking a skilled Cook to join our team at JobsRUs. As a Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of hot and cold food items for our clients.
Responsibilities:- Prepare and cook food to order, using a variety of kitchen equipment and techniques.
- Follow recipes and product directions to ensure high-quality food service.
- Provide excellent customer service and maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Operate a grill station and produce food for customers at an a la carte or buffet style.
- Read food orders or receive verbal instructions and prepare food accordingly.
- Prepare and cook soups, meats, vegetables, desserts, and other foodstuffs for consumption in eating establishments.
- Measure and mix ingredients, wash, peel, cut, and shred fruits and vegetables, and trim and cut meat, poultry, or fish for culinary use.
- Taste products, read menus, estimate food requirements, check production, and keep records to accurately plan production requirements and requisition supplies and equipment.
- Clean and sanitize work stations and equipment, and follow all client and regulatory rules and procedures.
- Enforce all company safety and risk management policies and procedures, and report all accidents and injuries in a timely manner.
- Comply with all HACCP policies and procedures, and attend all allergy and foodborne illness in-service training.
- High School diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- 3 to 4 years of related work experience.
- Knowledge of basic operation of equipment and cash-handling procedures preferred.
- Ability to maintain a positive attitude, communicate with co-workers and other departments with professionalism and respect, and present self in a highly professional manner.
- Ability to use a computer and familiarity of kitchen equipment.
- Must be able to read and follow a recipe unsupervised.
