Position Overview
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize various welding equipment and techniques, including Arc, Hardfacing, Brazing, and Tacking.
- Execute welding and hardfacing tasks on designated components.
- Employ safety protocols and maintain safe working practices.
- Inspect workpieces for imperfections and measure them to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Set up and operate hand and power tools typical in the welding industry.
- Weld using hardfacing materials and other alloys as required.
- Choose and install appropriate welding tools and materials based on specifications.
- Initiate welding processes by establishing electrical circuits.
- Adjust gas flow and pressure to achieve optimal flame characteristics.
- Determine necessary equipment and welding methods for tasks.
- Monitor welding processes to prevent material distortion or damage.
- Label materials with job numbers and other identifiers as needed.
- Remove excess hardfacing using grinders or other tools.
- Prepare surfaces for welding by ensuring cleanliness and readiness.
- Secure workpieces using appropriate lifting equipment.
- Preheat materials before welding as required.
- Direct flames or electrodes accurately during welding operations.
- Identify and report any equipment malfunctions or material defects.
- Clean parts using various tools and methods.
- Interpret engineering drawings and specifications to guide operations.
- Possess repair skills for minor hardfacing tasks as necessary.
- Minimum requirement: High School diploma.
- Experience in hardfacing operations is advantageous.
- Ability to interpret engineering documents and specifications.
- Knowledge of manufacturing equipment usage and maintenance.
- Proficient in using computers for specifications and documentation.
- Capacity to work extended hours on foot with scheduled breaks.
- Preferred: 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with reading technical drawings is preferred.
- Knowledge of proper equipment handling and maintenance.
