- Floating to other medical-surgical units is a necessary aspect of this role.
- Engage in a variety of surgical cases while participating in care team rounds to facilitate discharge planning.
- Bedside shift reporting is encouraged to enhance teamwork and communication.
- Collaboration with the orthopedic unit is essential; clinicians must be prepared to float between both units.
- Unit Capacity: 32 beds/cases.
- Nurse-Patient Ratio: Nights 1:6.

- Equipment Utilized: Alaris IV Pumps, CADD PCA, Bard Mini-Infusers, Pyxis, Ceiling or EVA lift, Wound Manager Vac.
- IV Insertion
- PICC/Central Line Management
- Vascular Device Access and Care
- Orientation hours are unpaid but essential for role preparation.
- For positions with guaranteed hours, Boone Health reserves the right to call off staff for up to 36 hours during a contract.
