Job Summary

The Janitorial Specialist will be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment within our office buildings and facilities. This includes sweeping walkways, clearing outdoor waste bins, and performing various cleaning tasks indoors and outdoors.

Responsibilities
  • Clean and supply designated building areas, including dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, and cleaning ceiling vents.
  • Perform routine inspection and maintenance activities, documenting any issues or needs for repairs.
  • Carry out heavy cleansing tasks and special projects as assigned.
  • Notify management of any deficiencies or needs for repairs.
  • Stock and maintain supply rooms.
  • Cooperate with other staff members and follow all health and safety regulations.
  • Clean up spills using appropriate equipment.
  • Perform minor repairs as needed.
  • Collect and dispose of trash.
  • Complete tasks in a timely manner with minimal supervision.
Requirements
  • Proven working experience as a Janitor or in a related field.
  • Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies.
  • Familiarity with Material Safety Data Sheets.
  • Integrity and ability to work independently.
  • High school degree or equivalent.
  • Ability to manage time efficiently.
  • Work well with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to lift at least 25 pounds.
  • Handle basic maintenance, building repairs, cleaning, and other janitorial work.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Able to work safely with a variety of cleaning supplies.
Physical Demands

The employee is required to talk and hear, sit, use hands and fingers to handle or feel, and manipulate keys on a keyboard. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
