Cafe Attendant

The University of New Mexico is seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused Caf Attendant to provide exceptional service to guests in the Food for Thought Caf at Klauer Campus.

• Provide Exceptional Customer Service: Greet guests, answer questions, and assist with the use of caf equipment as needed.
• Food and Beverage Knowledge: Provide information and answer questions about food and beverage offerings, and offer help and assistance as needed.
• Equipment Maintenance: Assist guests with the use of the Fresh Market equipment, such as the self-checkout payment kiosk and automated coffee machine.
• Inventory Management: Ensure that products and supplies are stocked and presented in a clean and organized manner.
• Quality Control: Assist with quality control for food and beverage to ensure that anything that is spoiled, nearing expiration, or unattractive is logged and removed.
• Facility Maintenance: Ensure that equipment is working properly and notify the proper personnel to maintain or fix as needed.
• Cleanliness and Organization: Ensure that the seating and service areas are kept clean and organized, wiping down, clearing trash as needed, and emptying small trash receptacles.

• Customer Service Skills: Provide exceptional customer service to guests in the Food for Thought Caf.
• Communication Skills: Written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with guests and colleagues.
• Technical Skills: Ability to learn and provide assistance with touch-screen technology.
• Organizational Skills: Ability to organize and maintain a neat and tidy environment.
• Attention to Detail: Ability to follow routine verbal and written instructions and understand and follow safety procedures.
