Job Description

Community Action Corporation of South Texas is seeking a dedicated and passionate Early Childhood Educator to join our team. As a Preschool Teacher, you will play a vital role in shaping the minds of our young students and helping them reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lesson Planning: Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cater to the diverse needs of our students, incorporating research-based curricula and individualization.
  • Teaching and Learning: Utilize effective teaching practices to promote positive outcomes, growth, and development in our students, aligning with the Head Start Early Learning Outcomes Framework.
  • Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate records of attendance, education, health, nutrition, mental health, transition, and parent-family engagement, as well as document screenings and assessments.
  • Parent-Teacher Communication: Conduct regular home visits and parent-teacher conferences to foster strong relationships with our students' families and promote parent involvement.
  • Classroom Management: Ensure a safe, nurturing, and healthy learning environment, implementing emergency procedures, medication administration, and supervising children at all times.
  • Professional Development: Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance your skills and knowledge, staying up-to-date with the latest research and best practices in early childhood education.

Requirements

  • Education: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Child Development, Early Childhood Education, or a related field, with experience teaching preschool-age children.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work effectively with diverse populations, and a passion for early childhood education.
  • Certifications and Licenses: Valid Texas Driver's License, ability to pass a background check, and an annual physical examination.
