Job Title: Cardiac Imaging Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Cardiac Imaging Specialist to join our team at MedStar Health.

The estimated salary for this role is $85,000 - $110,000 per year.

Job Description:

The Cardiac Imaging Specialist will perform angiographic and interventional procedures while managing patient care before, during, and after these procedures. This role requires administering contrast media, assisting physicians, and monitoring vital signs, ensuring quality patient care and safety throughout all phases of imaging procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Administers contrast media into the coronary arteries as directed by a cardiologist during a cardiac catheterization procedure.
  • Aids in the manipulation and placement of guide wires and catheters under the supervision of a Cardiac Interventional Tech II.
  • Provides appropriate patient care as required and responds to on-call emergencies in accordance with department policy.
  • Maintains adequate stock of basic interventional and cardiac supplies and provides supervisor with current inventory status.
  • Performs daily and weekly infection control measures and maintains all appropriate patient records and department check sheets.
  • Operates emergency equipment safely and performs hemodynamic physiologic patient monitoring, recording calculations of cardiovascular procedures.
  • Responsible for pre-procedural duties such as sterile tray preparation, procedural patient education, and confirmation of required lab work and patient medical history.

Qualifications:

  • Satisfactory completion of an AMA-approved school or Radiologic Technology of at least 2 years duration.
  • Clinical experience in diagnostic radiology with a commitment to complete 6-month MedStar intensive interventional training.
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) certification/registration.
  • Radiology Technologist license in the State of Maryland.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification or eligibility.
