Head Start Teacher

Lorain County Community Action Agency is a non-profit organization dedicated to serving and empowering Lorain County residents in need. We are seeking a highly qualified and dedicated individual to fill the role of Head Start Teacher.

The Head Start Teacher is responsible for providing a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for preschool children. This includes planning and implementing engaging lesson plans, conducting ongoing developmental assessments, and developing individualized learning plans for each child. The successful candidate will also be responsible for building strong relationships with parents and guardians, ensuring compliance with Head Start Performance Standards and other regulatory requirements, and working collaboratively with other staff members.

• Plan and implement engaging lesson plans that meet the individual needs of each child
• Conduct ongoing developmental assessments and develop individualized learning plans
• Build strong relationships with parents and guardians through regular communication and home visits
• Ensure compliance with Head Start Performance Standards and other regulatory requirements
• Work collaboratively with other staff members to achieve program goals
• Provide a safe and nurturing learning environment that promotes social-emotional growth and development
• Utilize technology for reporting, assessments, and communication purposes

• Associate's or advanced degree in Early Childhood Education or related field
• At least one year of experience working with young children in a classroom setting
• Ability to work with low-income and disadvantaged populations
• Good oral and written communication skills
• Ability to relate to and work with young children and their families
• Ability to utilize technology for reporting, assessments, and communication purposes

This position is located at LCCAA Head Start and requires the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. The successful candidate will be required to work collaboratively with other staff members and maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the job.
