The Role

The Associate Attorney role involves consistently identifying clients' legal needs, offering counsel, clarifying legal options, and adeptly representing them in courtroom settings and negotiations. Our top priorities are making sure clients feel fully supported and receive optimal, cost-effective legal assistance.

Responsibilities
  • Draft petitions, motions, discovery, community property settlements, judgments, and all pleadings associated with family law matters
  • Represent clients in court proceedings, including trial, if needed
  • Knowledge of laws related to divorce, custody, child support, spousal support, domestic violence, and community property
Qualifications
  • Family Law experience preferred
  • Must be licensed, active, and in good standing with the Louisiana State Bar Association
  • The ability to learn quickly
  • Experience with Dropbox, MS Office 365, and Clio, or ability to learn quickly
  • Stellar writing skills - a writing sample will be required
  • Willingness to be coached
  • A passion for empowering clients with information to make knowledgeable decisions
  • Commitment to meet 1200 hours a year billable hour requirements
  • Ability to be first chair on 40-50 cases at all times
  • Ability to attend in-person for Court and effectively litigate
  • Ability to relate to individuals from diverse cultural, educational, ethnic, generational, and socioeconomic backgrounds to build relationships
