Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Transportation Engineer to join our team at Davis & Floyd. As a Transportation Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing roadway projects, including roadway drainage design, NEPA requirements, traffic control, and permitting. You will work closely with our team to lead the development of preliminary plans through final construction plans and specifications.

Responsibilities
  • Design and Develop Roadway Projects: You will be responsible for designing and developing roadway projects, including roadway drainage design, NEPA requirements, traffic control, and permitting.
  • Lead Project Development: You will lead the development of preliminary plans through final construction plans and specifications.
  • Collaborate with Team Members: You will work closely with our team to ensure that projects are completed on schedule and within budget.
  • Prepare Plans and Specifications: You will prepare final roadway plans, specifications, and cost estimates with efficiency and accuracy.
  • Assist Junior Engineers: You will assist junior engineers and CAD staff in preparing plan set documents per DOT standards.
  • Quality Review: You will assist in quality review of roadway design calculations and drawings.
  • Client Communication: You will interface with clients and regulatory agencies to communicate and establish expectations.
  • Project Management: You will assist in the preparation of meeting minutes and progress reports as required by the PDM.
  • Technical Problem-Solving: You will apply sound engineering principles to the solution of routine technical problems.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (Master's degree a plus)
  • Experience: 4 to 8 years of experience in roadway design
  • Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills, comprehensive knowledge of roadway design requirements, proficiency in Geopak and Microstation
  • Certifications: Professional Engineer
