About the Role

FIRE is seeking a highly skilled and organized Paralegal to join its Litigation team. As a key member of the team, you will provide critical support to attorneys in all phases of our strategic litigation.

Responsibilities
  • Assist attorneys in factual investigation of potential cases, ensuring thorough research and analysis.
  • Manage and serve court filings, adhering to applicable court rules and regulations.
  • Coordinate the litigation calendar, tracking dates and deadlines for hearings and court filings.
  • Organize and maintain paper and electronic case files, ensuring seamless access to critical information.
  • Prepare and review legal documents, including summonses, motions, declarations, and proposed orders.
  • Assist attorneys with discovery, ensuring timely and accurate responses to requests.
  • Manage preparation and logistics for depositions, pretrial hearings, court conferences, and trials.
  • Utilize technology, including Trial Pad and Trial Director, to support trial and evidentiary hearings.
  • Manage public-records requests, ensuring timely and accurate responses.
  • Assist in training and managing Litigation support staff, promoting a culture of excellence and efficiency.
Requirements
  • Exceptional organizational skills, with a proven ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple assignments.
  • Superior attention to detail, with a focus on accuracy and precision.
  • Expertise in preparing legal documents for filing and service in federal courts.
  • Proficiency with e-discovery, cite-checking, and proofreading legal documents.
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and related programs.
  • Proficiency with LexisNexis, Westlaw, and other legal research services.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to manage sensitive information and maintain client confidentiality.
  • Knowledge of FIRE's mission and a willingness to advocate for that mission.
