Overview:

As a Rotor Wing Flight Commander, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our aircraft. Your primary responsibility will be to oversee the transport of medical personnel and patients to healthcare facilities, adhering to the highest standards of aviation safety and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough pre-flight inspections to confirm the aircraft's airworthiness.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR) and Air Methods' operational guidelines.
  • Exercise final authority over all flight operations, ensuring the safety of passengers and cargo.
  • Engage in meticulous flight planning, demonstrating adaptability and precision.
  • Participate actively in company meetings and community outreach initiatives.

Essential Qualifications:

To excel in this role, candidates must possess:

  • A minimum of an Associate's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Two to five years of relevant aviation experience.
  • Commercial and Instrument Ratings for the specific aircraft category.
  • A proven track record of flying within the last 24 months.

Flight Experience Requirements:

  • 2000 total flight hours, with at least 1500 hours in rotor wing operations.
  • 1000 hours as Pilot in Command (PIC) in rotor wing.
  • 500 hours of turbine rotor wing experience.
  • 200 hours of cross-country flight time, including night operations.

Certifications:

Candidates must hold a First or Second Class FAA Medical certificate and meet all necessary licensing requirements.
