Job Summary:The Case Manager at The Dennis Law Firm, LLC plays a crucial role in managing the day-to-day activities of personal injury cases. The position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion. The Case Manager acts as a liaison between clients, attorneys, medical professionals, and insurance companies to ensure the smooth progression of each case.
Key Responsibilities:- Case Management: Oversee and manage a high volume of personal injury cases from inception through resolution. Maintain organized and detailed case files, including all correspondence, medical records, and legal documents.
- Client Interaction: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing updates on case status, answering questions, and addressing concerns. Ensure clients are informed about the progression of their case.
- Document Preparation: Prepare, review, and organize legal documents such as pleadings, discovery responses, and settlement demands. Ensure accuracy and completeness before submission.
- Medical Coordination: Obtain and review medical records and bills, coordinate medical appointments, and communicate with healthcare providers to gather necessary documentation and support for cases.
- Insurance Communication: Interact with insurance adjusters, provide necessary documentation, and negotiate settlements under the guidance of the attorney.
- Litigation Support: Assist attorneys with trial preparation, including organizing exhibits, preparing witness lists, and coordinating trial logistics.
- Administrative Duties: Maintain case management software, schedule appointments, track case deadlines, and perform other administrative tasks as needed.
- Investigation: Conduct initial case investigations, gather evidence, and interview witnesses to support case development.
- Education: Bachelor's degree preferred. Paralegal certification or equivalent experience in a legal setting is a plus.
- Work Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in case management, preferably in personal injury law.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in case management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with clients.
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in work product.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Fast-paced and dynamic office setting.
- Requires the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- May involve occasional travel for court appearances or client meetings.
- Office environment with normal business hours necessary to satisfactorily perform job functions.
- Stand/Sit Must be able to remain in a stationary position up to 50% of the time.
- Walk This position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, meeting rooms, office machinery, etc.
- Use of hands/fingers to handle or feel Constantly operates a computer and other office machinery such as a copy machine/printer.
- Climbs stairs May occasionally ascend/descend the stairs to get to other floors, restaurants/cafeteria, and parking area.
- Carry Weight/Lift - Occasionally moves supplies weighing up to 10 pounds for various presentation and event needs.
