Job Duties and Responsibilities:

As a Laboratory Phlebotomist at Gritman Medical Center, you will be responsible for:



  • Collecting blood samples via venipuncture or capillary puncture.
  • Processing and distributing samples for internal and external use.
  • Printing and/or processing patient reports and providing reception support.
  • Performing clerical tasks, including data entry, filing, and report processing.
  • Maintaining the cleanliness of the laboratory area.
  • Driving or walking to clients to deliver reports, pick up specimens, or collect blood samples.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:



  • BLS certification
  • Entry-level work experience

Preferred Qualifications:

We prefer candidates with:



  • Clinical phlebotomy experience

Functional Demands:

This role requires:



  • Working with various populations, including neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
  • Physical demands, including lifting, pushing, pulling, carrying, fine motor skills, standing, sitting, stooping, kneeling, crouching, driving, and occasional lifting of supplies.

Environmental Conditions:

You will be working in an inside environment with:



  • Constant exposure to wet conditions, noise, toxic or caustic chemicals, and biohazardous materials.
  • Required protective equipment, including a laboratory coat, gloves, safety goggles or shield, and closed-toe shoes.
  • OSHA Category: Class I High Risk.
