Job Overview

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) operates in alignment with the Mission, Vision, and Values of Beaufort Memorial. This role involves delivering routine patient care under the guidance of a Registered Nurse, adhering to the regulations set forth by the South Carolina State Board of Nursing as outlined in the South Carolina Title 40 Nurse Practice Act. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Gathering and documenting healthcare information
  • Administering medications and treatments as directed by a licensed healthcare provider
  • Executing nursing interventions and assigned tasks
  • Providing basic education for health promotion and maintenance
  • Assisting in assessing responses to interventions
  • Ensuring the provision of safe and effective nursing care, both directly and indirectly
  • Collaborating with other healthcare professionals in the planning and delivery of patient care
  • Delegating nursing responsibilities to qualified personnel
  • Performing additional tasks that require specialized training and education
Position Requirements

Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a Practical Nursing Program approved by the State Board of Nursing.
Experience:
  • Proven ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Strong communication skills, mature judgment, and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Outstanding customer service abilities, demonstrating professionalism and accountability.
Certifications/Licenses:
  • BLS certification is required prior to the first clinical shift (must be issued by the American Heart Association).
  • Must hold a valid nursing license in South Carolina.
