Job Summary

Woodland Heights Medical Center is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Intensive Care Unit (ICU) team. As a Critical Care Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care to critically ill patients, collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans, and promoting a culture of safety and excellence within the ICU.

Responsibilities
  • Evaluate assigned patients and develop, implement, and document individualized nursing care plans.
  • Assist physicians during examinations and procedures, and perform various patient tests and administer medications within the scope of the practice of the RN.
  • Promote patients' independence by establishing patient care goals and teaching patients and families to understand conditions, medications, and self-care skills.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans, and promote a culture of safety and excellence within the ICU.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures to ensure high-quality patient care.
Requirements
  • Associate's Degree in Nursing
  • Certified as a Registered Nurse in the State of Texas
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
  • Familiarity with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures
  • NIHSS (can be completed after hire)
