We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Substitute LVN to join our team at Del Valle ISD (TX). As a Substitute LVN, you will play a vital role in providing health services to students and promoting health education and preventive health practices.
Key Responsibilities- Assist the Health Services Director in implementing a comprehensive program of health services.
- Provide health services to students, including routine and emergency care, health counseling, and instruction.
- Administer medications and provide prescribed medical treatments to students.
- Participate in Admission, Review, and Dismissal Committee (ARD) as needed.
- Perform screening procedures and make referrals as necessary.
- Assess and report suspected child abuse.
- Review and evaluate immunization records.
- Requisition supplies and equipment needed to maintain clinic inventory.
- Maintain and file all reports, records, and other documents required.
- High School diploma or GED (recognized by the Texas Education Agency or a regional accrediting agency).
- Graduate of an accredited vocational nursing program.
- Valid Texas Vocational Nurse License.
- CPR/AED certified.
- Certified by Texas Department of State Health Services to conduct vision, hearing, and spinal screening.
- Certified through UTPA Border Health Office to conduct type II diabetes screenings.
- Candidate must have satisfactory outcome of fingerprinting background check.
- One (1) year of pediatric health or community health experience.
The Substitute LVN will work irregular and extended hours, including holidays and weekends. The position requires frequent standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, pushing, and pulling, as well as regular lifting of loads up to and including 50 pounds. The Substitute LVN may be exposed to biological hazards, bacteria, and communicable diseases.
