Position Overview:
Our Facilities Management Department is seeking a qualified Journeyman Electrician to install and maintain electrical systems in accordance with industry standards and organizational guidelines.
This role requires advanced experience, and the selected candidate will work during overnight hours to perform the following key responsibilities:
- Installation, modification, troubleshooting, calibration, repair, and preventive maintenance of electrical and electronic systems, including devices, components, conduits, wiring, switchboards, controllers, motors, transformers, generators, and lighting systems.
- Inspection and repair of high-voltage runway lighting systems, diagnosing and resolving equipment failures, and executing timely preventive maintenance.
- Interpreting blueprints and schematics, requisitioning necessary tools and supplies, and maintaining accurate records and logs.
- Utilizing computers for record-keeping and work orders, responding to emergencies, coordinating with stakeholders, and potentially leading projects.
Key Competencies:
- Experience with airfield electrical systems, particularly 5kV and 12kV.
- Flexibility to work second or third shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Strong interpersonal skills to engage effectively with teams and stakeholders.
- Excellent organizational abilities to meet project deadlines.
- Capability to deliver results within specifications and budget.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Four years of journey-level experience in electrical installation and maintenance.
- Equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Valid journeyman license or higher.
- ABC Apprentice Certificate.
- Valid California Class 'C' driver's license with insurability under the Authority's Vehicle Insurance Policy.
