As an RDH, you will play a vital role in promoting oral health by performing comprehensive dental hygiene procedures, educating patients on proper oral hygiene practices, and collaborating with dentists to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide thorough dental prophylaxis, including cleaning deposits and stains from teeth and beneath gum margins.
  • Conduct oral cancer screenings and examine gums for signs of periodontal disease.
  • Apply fluoride and other cavity-preventing agents to arrest dental decay.
  • Assist dentists in managing dental emergencies by maintaining CPR certification and ensuring the availability of emergency supplies.
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene techniques, plaque control, and postoperative care. Provide reminders for upcoming appointments.
  • Document dental hygiene services accurately by recording vital signs, medical and dental histories, and charting findings in patient records.
  • Maintain dental equipment through preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and staying abreast of new technologies.
  • Manage dental supplies effectively by maintaining inventory, anticipating needs, and verifying supply receipts.
  • Continuously enhance professional knowledge by attending educational workshops and participating in professional societies.
Requirements:
  • Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) license in good standing.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Local Anesthesia and Nitrous Certification preferred.
