Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Checkout Associate to join our team at Lowe's. As a key member of our sales floor team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, processing sales transactions, and maintaining a clean and safe shopping environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Service: Actively seek out and greet customers to identify and understand their needs at checkout. Sincerely thank every customer for their business and invite them back to Lowe's.
  • Checkout Operations: Use a cash register, assisted self-checkout registers, or mobile checkout unit to process sales transactions, returns, and refunds according to company guidelines.
  • Merchandise Management: Ensure merchandise is accurately scanned, prepare register area throughout the day, and stock register supplies.
  • Store Maintenance: Comply with housekeeping standards and programs to maintain cleanliness and organization of the store and working areas.
  • Security: Detect common signs of shoplifting, theft, and other security risks, and promptly communicate them to management and/or Asset Protection.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: Less than 1 year of experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to stand and navigate throughout the checkout areas for extended periods of time in a retail store environment.
