We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Community Initiatives Specialist to join our team at Stark Community Foundation. This role will support the Vice President of Grants and Community Initiatives in developing and analyzing community initiatives and will be responsible for contributing to the Foundation's community leadership role.

The estimated salary for this position is $85,000 - $105,000 per year, based on industry standards and the location. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in business, communications, or a related field and at least 7 years of experience in the nonprofit sector with specific experience in effectively working and building relationships with diverse constituents and managing projects and competing priorities.

The successful candidate will possess superior verbal and written communications skills, ability to research and analyze large volumes of data, strong organizational and time-management skills, and a deep interest in and commitment to the work of community foundations. Additionally, they will have experience in project design and/or portfolio management, evaluation, policy, and communications efforts, and be able to assess the leadership, track record, and capacity of social sector organizations and collaboratives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Grant Management: Manage the grantmaking process, including reviewing and analyzing proposals, conducting site visits, and coordinating the evaluation process.
  • Community Engagement: Build positive relationships within the community, convene grantees and others in the field, and represent the Foundation at community forums and events.
  • Knowledge Sharing: Share knowledge and best practices with stakeholders, including grantees, donors, and community members.
  • Evaluation and Research: Conduct evaluations and research to inform community initiatives and ensure the effectiveness of programs.
