The Vascular Ultrasound Specialist is responsible for conducting various diagnostic ultrasound examinations, including Echocardiograms, Transesophageal Echocardiograms (TEE), Stress Echocardiograms, and Doppler studies of the Arteries and Carotids.
This role requires a commitment to patient care, involving thorough assessment, continuous observation, and precise documentation of patient information.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct ultrasonic diagnostic procedures as per physician orders.
- Ensure accurate documentation and proper routing of examination data.
- Provide clear explanations of procedures to patients to facilitate cooperation and achieve optimal results.
- Maintain compliance with established hospital policies, quality assurance protocols, and safety standards.
- Assist in the upkeep of diagnostic equipment and manage inventory of necessary supplies.
- Participate in departmental meetings, training sessions, and continuous education to stay updated with industry practices.
- Engage in quality improvement initiatives and regulatory compliance activities.
Education: High School diploma or equivalent required. Completion of an accredited Echocardiography program with certification (ARDMS or CCI) is essential.
Experience: Previous experience in performing Echocardiogram testing is preferred.
Certifications: A valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is mandatory.
