Job Title: Juvenile Detention Officer

About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to work in our Youth Services Center. As a Juvenile Detention Officer, you will be responsible for transporting and interacting with juveniles in a confined and secure detention facility. Your primary work functions will include performing duties related to juvenile daily care within the housing units, facilitating groups, operating Central Control, conducting juvenile assessment, intake and release activities, and transporting residents outside the facility.

Responsibilities:
  • Transport and interact with juveniles in a confined and secure detention facility
  • Perform duties related to juvenile daily care within the housing units
  • Facilitate groups and operate Central Control
  • Conduct juvenile assessment, intake, and release activities
  • Transport residents outside the facility
Requirements:
  • Graduation from high school or equivalent supplemented by college coursework in criminal justice, human development, or a related behavioral science field
  • At least six months of experience working with juveniles in a social service, detention, or corrections program
  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record
  • Ability to pass a physical examination and meet physical and medical requirements of the job classification
  • Ability to work a variety of shifts, including evenings and nights
