About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Director to join our team at Adverum Biotechnologies. As a Medical Director, you will play a critical role in leading our Medical Affairs team and driving the development of our gene therapy product candidates.

Key Responsibilities
  • Scientific Leadership: Provide scientific expertise and leadership to internal and external stakeholders, including KOLs and healthcare professionals in ophthalmology.
  • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategic plans to support the development of our gene therapy product candidates, including clinical trials, pre-launch, and launch activities.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Clinical Development, Clinical Operations, and Medical Affairs, to ensure effective communication and coordination of medical affairs activities.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with industry regulations and practices related to interactions with healthcare professionals.
  • Travel and Representation: Represent Adverum at medical congresses, advisory boards, and steering committee meetings, and travel to clinical trial sites and company meetings as needed.
Requirements
  • Education: Terminal degree (PharmD, PhD, MD, or equivalent) required.
  • Experience: Minimum two years previous medical affairs experience, with a strong background in ophthalmology or gene therapy.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and presentation skills, ability to build productive collaborations with medical experts, and working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Personal Qualities: Self-starter, self-motivated, and a strong team player with excellent time management and organizational skills.
